Rethinking Education of Minorities especially in the context of Muslim Education and Policy Perspective

Abstract: The Muslims form the largest minority in India, but at the same time, it is a fact that they are the most deprived section of the society after SC/ST. The only difference among these sections is that the SC/ST community ensures opportunities for education and jobs, whereas this facility is not available for Muslims. This does not mean that the government has not put any effort into the education of minorities. There are plenty of provisions like constitutional provisions, educational rights, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Act, 2004, PM’s new 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities and the most noteworthy work for Muslim Minority in recent times is Sachar Committee Report and its follow up action. Despite all these initiatives and efforts, there is still the poor performance of the Muslim minority.
