 WhatsApp is an important platform or mobile app for connecting with friends, family and co-workers in various fields including the field of education. The use of WhatsApp on mobile has led to the formation of small, cohesive groups and thereby it has become a social media connectivity tool for fellow workers. The precursor of WhatsApp i.e. SMS used only text messages for communication, but now smart-phone technology features added to internet connection have extended the scope and horizon of the use of mobile. The text, PDF, picture, audio, video, animation etc. are some of the different media (multiple media) which can be shared using this platform. The basic advantage for indigenous users in India is that text and content of communication of ideas could be English or/as well as local vernacular languages. Thus, a group of people working in different localities with similar backgrounds could be brought together on one platform as a virtually connected society and share common thought

Gone are the days when teachers were teaching using chalk and talk method. Most of the teacher educators like us use to record in our observation diary that the student-teachers i.e. would be teachers in teacher education programmes make use of Daily Using Teaching Aids (DUTA). By this we meant that the student teachers were practicing their lessons using Chalk, Duster, Blackboard; and followed ‘Lecture Method’ for teaching and the primary source behind lesson preparation was generally textbook prescribed by the state board. Thus, teacher’s innovation was limited to ways of expression restricting to tone, gestures, drawing skills on the board with different colour chalk pieces and a rolling blackboard containing few assignment activities. جلیس یا دوست وہ ہوتا ہے جو ہر وقت ہمارے ساتھ رہتا ہے ،چاہے وہ خوشی کا موقع ہو یا غم کے حالات ۔آج کل کا ماحول کچھ اسی طرح کا ہو گیا ہے کیابڑے، کیا چھوٹے یا کیا شادی کی خوشیوں کا ماحول یا غم کے اطلاعات پہنچانے کا موقع موبایل ہمیں ایک بہترین دوست کی طرح ساتھ دےرہا  ہے  اور ہمیشہ ہمارے ساتھ رہتا ہے۔ ایک دوست کی خصوصیات میں بھروسہ مند ہونا، قابل اعتماد، ایماندار اور وفادار ہونا بھی شامل ہے ۔ بغیر ان خصوصیات کے دوستی بھی قابلِ بھروسہ نہیں ہوتی ۔اگر یہ دیکھا جائے کہ آیا موبایل میں اس طرح کی خصوصیات پائی جاتی ہیں ؟تو ہاں ہم یہ بھروسہ کرسکتے ہیں کہ موبایل فون ضرورت کے وقت اپنوں سے رابطہ کرنے میں مدد دیتا ہے اور آپ کے ذریعے کیا گیا کال اگر گھر والوں کے لئے ہے تو گھروالوں سے ہی جڑے گا ،یعنی یہ کہہ سکتے ہیں کہ وہ غلط نمبر نہیں جوڑے گا، جب تک کہ آپ غلط نمبر نہیں ڈائل کریں گے ۔ یہ ہمارے دوستوں کی طرح ایماندار بھی ہوتا ہے اور ہماری باتوں کو خفیہ ہی رکھتا ہے انہیں افشاں نہیں ہونے دیتا ۔ موبایل ہمارا وفادار ہوتا ہے ، اور ہمارا ساتھ کبھی نہیں چھوڑتا یا اگر غلطی سے کہیں چھوٹ بھی جائے تو 'مس کال&#

Abstract: The concept of Open Educational Resources (OER) was conceived in 2002 by UNESCO forum and used extensively since then. Many efforts have been made to integrate OERs in the higher education in general and distance mode programmes in particular across the globe. Patel (2015) makes a meta-analysis of use of OER in Asian countries, and finds that India is no exception, and elucidates that it is far ahead in OER usage for educational purposes. The efforts in use of OER requires training of educators, course writers, course designers working in the area of distance education and awareness creation of learners regarding various OERs. MHRD (2016) website gives an information about existence of 677 universities in India in 2014, which includes one national, 13 state uni-modal and 194 bimodal universities listed on the DEB website (2016) that are facilitating distance education. But, practically to our surprise, dismay, we find that only few of these distance education universities/dep
