AVAILABILTY 0F INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN TELANGANA IN THE CONTEXT OF TECHNOLOGICAL ERA
The 21st Century is emerging as a technologically rich era and technology is affecting various parts of human life. The school education which is an important part of human life also gets affected due to this incumbent technology. The children of this age spend a lot of time in schools and the present day schools have been equipped with ICT equipments. However, the theoretical claims of various govt agencies have to be ascertained by conducting empirical research in a particular area. Therefore, the investigators have taken up a study to know the Availability of ICT in the schools of Telangana State.
This is quite an essential study in the formational stage of Telangana state, which is spreading its firm roots in economic, social, educational and other aspects. This paper presents part of a study taken up at a doctoral level, wherein a survey method was adopted to collect data from 600 secondary school teachers. The percentage analysis technique was used to analyse the data obtained from the survey. The investigators feel that the practical knowledge of ground reality should help policy planners in Telangana to take up ICT intervention in school education. Simultaneously, it is also felt that the finding of the study will help policy planners to equip the schools having fewer ICT facilities.
