Urdu Keli-Kali Radio Programme Karnataka 2003

The DEP-DPEP IGNOU started its massive Distance Education Programme by placing its Distance Education Co-ordinator, DEP-DPEP Karnataka in 2000 at Bangalore. Initially the radio-based lessons were started for schools in Kannada language, which received appreciation from students, teachers, officials, educator, researchers and policy makers. The cost of the programme was fraction of paise per programme per child. Based on the demands of the stakeholders the authorities decided to extend these programme in second most popular language of Karnatak i.e. in Urdu.
